An old classic, with a New Twist...

Growing up, I loved to cook/bake and my mom was terrible at it. She would avoid getting in the kitchen at every opportunity, so at 5 I was making my own toast and at 8 I was baking muffins, cupcakes and pretty much anything that came with instructions!

Then in my high school Home Ec class, I learned about this fun pull apart bread that was pretty easy and really tasty. It has been with me ever since. I usually make it about once a year for old times sake, but I got to thinking the other day about this very simple recipe and decided I should start making it more often. Its very inexpensive and really easy, that I could let my 4 1/2 year old help out and we could make it our fun dessert project, each month putting a new clever tasty spin on it. So this is the first of hopefully MANY posts about Monkey/Pull Apart Bread and the Fun and Tasty Ways to spruce it up.

This month- Pumpkin Pecan Caramel Monkey Bread

Ingredients:
1/2 C Sugar
1 tbsp Cinnamon
1 tbsp Pumpkin Spice Jello Instant Pudding Mix
1 Can of homestyle biscuits
1/4 c Brown Sugar,
1 Stick of butter
1/4 C Glazed Pecans

Put the sugar, cinnamon and pumpkin pudding mix into a medium mixing bowl. cut biscuits into 1/4's and put into the bowl of the mixture. Toss to coat the dough pieces. Spray an 8" round cake pan with non stick spray. Put sugar coated biscuits in the pan, in one flat layer.

Add the brown sugar and butter to the mixing bowl and melt in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and pour the melted mixture over the biscuits. Top with glazed pecans.

Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Allow to cool 10-15 minutes and enjoy.
Please feel free to post comments with your own favorite version of this classic dessert :)

Breakfast Gone Wildly Deliscious- Cupcake Style

I saw this post last night from Random Thoughts of a Super Mom, for Candy Corn Waffles and I thought, I am going to be an awesome mom in the morning myself and make those for my kiddo's. So when my eyes popped open to sound of silence, it quickly became my mission to get downstairs, throw together the best breakfast ever, and surprise my boys before they got up for the day. So I whipped up these super fun, super easy waffles (I added some Banana Flavoring to the mix) and the house was still silent. So then I thought, oooh I will make some homemade Dark Chocolate Ganache to go over them, I know a little much for breakfast but I am being an awesome mom right? So I make the ganache and still silence. Then I remember some Banana Cream Icing I made a week ago still in the fridge, so plop some of that on them and then it hit me, glazed Pecans!!! Lucklily, I had just made some of those as well. Since the boys were still sleeping I just let the creative juices flow. When I was done, I had this beautiful tasty looking Banana, Chocolate Pecan Halloween Waffle and no kids up to eat it. So I enjoyed breakfast in the piece and quiet and I gotta say, it was HEAVEN. :)

Now Im off to wake up my little sleepy heads and surprise them with what's left of the best breakfast ever! Here are some pics for ya!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

I have handed out flyers locally, I have done some exposure events, I am featured on several Facebook Pages and Blogs, and I have donated cupcakes to several organizations! This time, I am giving out free samples to pretty much ANYONE who wants them! :) So I asked my followers on Facebook to sign up to get samples brought to their place of business to share with everyone there! I will be taking samples this Thursday September 8th to businesses in the Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, AJ and QC areas. If you would like to sign up to get some brought in for your office, post here or Email Me.

If you have ANY ideas or tips that would help me spread the word about Buttercream Bling, please let me know! If you hear about Boutiques or see someone looking for donations, please send the info over to me.

In return for your help, for every new LEAD you bring to Buttercream Bling, (that I follow up on) I will give you a $10 Gift Certificate! Yummy Recipe Wednesday!!!

I recently became a fan of a new and very quickly growing page on Facebook called Crock Pot Girls and they posted a seriously yummy sounding and super simple Chocolate Lava Cake Recipe, made in your crock pot (with the extremely high temperatures we are still enduring here in Az, you couldnt pay me to turn on my oven so this is perfect!)!!! I think I will have to try this out sometime soon! So here is the recipe and make sure to check out there page, there are soooo many recipes between the ones they post in the photo's section and the ones fans are constantly posting in the discussion forum, you will find a lot of great things to try! So Good Luck and Happy Yummy Recipe Wednesday!

Slow Cooker Chocolate Lava Cake

1 package devils food cake mix
3 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 2/3 cups water
1 package Jell-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding Mix
2 cups cold milk
1 bag (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions
Prepare cake mix into batter using eggs, oil, and water. Pour into crock-pot.

Prepare Jell-O Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix using milk. Pour this over cake mix in crock-pot. Sprinkle chocolate chips all over the top of the batter.

Cook in crock-pot on high setting for 2 1/2 to 3 hours until cake is moist but not jiggle, and little volcanoes of spitting chocolate appear on top. Serve with ice cream, whipped topping, or on its own for a really special dessert.

Notes For best results use a crock-pot liner so sides don't burn to your crock-pot.

You can use just about any kind of cake mix or pudding mix or even different kinds of chips. Create anything you want with this simple recipe!

Auction Posted!

I have posted a new Auction on my Facebook Page!!! Its a great way for people to get my treats at a discount! Some of the items can even be shipped! So get over there and bid, auction ends tomorrow at 3! Buttercream Bling Facebook Page
